Several days later, I went to his house.
The door was unlocked.
I called out his name but there was no answer.
There was only the scent of overly ripened peaches in the air.

J’ai appelé son nom – mais n’ai reçu aucune réponse.
Il n’y avait dans l’air qu’une odeur de pêches en train de pourrir.
